Sari Alesh is an internationally recognized violinist. Alesh has a Bachelor’s degree in music. Sari was classically trained in Damascus and toured Europe and the Middle East with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra for six years before the war in Syria. He performed with several well-known artists such as the legendary Lebanese singer Fairouz. Since arriving in Canada in February of 2016, Sari has called Victoria home and has contributed with his musical gifts to the local community in many ways including supporting social causes. Playing everything from Arabic to American pop, Alesh does it all. Since being in Canada he discovered Irish Celtic music. Sari will be joined by members of his Victoria-based band: Wilf Davies on piano, Sherry Leigh Williams on vocals, Barrie Hughes on bass and mandolin, Dave Conway on guitar and Keith Bjorndahl on drums. They perform a wide range of genres and styles from Arab pop and classical to Great American Songbook jazz standards to Celtic fiddle music.
